Cityscapes
This is the first of what I anticipate to be a new series of local New York cityscapes. I am interested in taking a closer look at my own neighborhood, and in painting the unexpected beauty of places that one might ordinarily pass by without noticing. I am particularly attracted to the sparkling night-time colors of traffic lights and neon storefront signs, and the way they glow on the natural life that manages to endure in such an unnatural urban environment.
